General FAQs

What is CUC Western Riverina?

We’re a local, not-for-profit study centre supporting students in the Western Riverina to undertake higher education without leaving the region. We’re part of the Country Universities Centre network, but we’re locally owned and run for our community.

What services does the CUC provide?

Each Centre offers reliable internet, quiet study spaces, printing, computer access, academic skills support, and connection to a community of local students.

Does it cost anything to use a CUC?

No. Registration and our services are completely free.

Where are you located?

We have two centres: one in Griffith and one in Leeton.

Griffith: 2/1 Olympic Street

Leeton: Sycamore Street (Leeton Library)

Are you a university?

No. We’re a study hub, a part of the Regional University Study Hub Network, not a university. We’re not linked to any single institution, so we support students from all higher education providers. Whatever you’re studying, and wherever you’re studying it, we’re here to help you succeed while staying local.

Eligibility & Registration

Who can register?

Registration is free for anyone enrolled in a Certificate IV, Diploma, Degree or above with an Australian registered provider.

How do I register to use a CUC Centre?

You can register online, by clicking the ‘Register Your Interst’ button in the top right hand corner of the website, or in person at your local Centre.

Can I use a Centre if I study online?

Absolutely. Many of CUC students study online or externally and use the Centre as their academic base.

Support & Resources

What kind of academic support is available?

Our team can help with course research and advice, academic skills, and navigating uni systems. Centre support includes one-on-one sessions, workshops on academic writing and referencing, and help with time management and study strategies.

We can also provide tailored advice on your circumstances and referrals to local and university services, and help you find scholarships and grants.

Will the CUC help me connect with other students?

Yes! The CUC fosters a sense of community through student events, workshops, and a shared study environment where you can meet and collaborate with others.

Can I access the CUC after hours?

Registered students have access from 5am to midnight, seven days a week.
