Why did you register with the CUC?

I registered with the Country Universities Centre (CUC) because I wanted to be part of a supportive community of like-minded students. The CUC provides access to valuable resources, including free printing, technology and dedicated study spaces, which have made a real difference to my study experience. Having a quiet and focused environment to study in has also helped me stay motivated, productive and on track with my studies.

Share with us a proud moment you have achieved as a student.

One of my proudest moments as a student was receiving 97% for a Crime Profile I completed on my hometown of Griffith. More recently, I had the opportunity to work on a group project involving the New Zealand Police and NSW Police Force, investigating aspects of drone-facilitated farm crime. Our final report received a grade of 95%, which was an achievement I was incredibly proud of.

What advice would you give to other regional and rural people who are considering higher education?

My advice to other regional and rural people considering higher education would be to go for it! Studying from a regional area can come with its own challenges, but having access to support services like the CUC can make a significant difference. Being part of a supportive community that understands the regional student experience, while having access to the resources and study spaces you need, can make higher education feel much more achievable.
